Sense and State: studies of dreams and psychedelic experience

The Psychedelic Yoga Research Collective (the PYRC) is starting three research projects on the senses in dreams and psychedelic experience. All three are in preparation.

The sensory ladder of dreams: using public collections of dream reports, we will measure how often each sense appears, including interoception, the felt sense of the body from inside, and test whether the senses appear in a consistent order.

Ketamine, with and without cannabis: working from the Erowid Center's experience reports, with their permission, we will ask whether cannabis shifts ketamine experiences toward dreaming, and what that means for whether, when and how it is used in ketamine care and in harm reduction.

Engaging the senses: an argued proposal that short multisensory and interoceptive practices, before the medicine and in integration, belong in psychedelic care, with Tibetan dream yoga as a precedent.
